Instructional Facilitators Carrie Barber and Michelle Moore with Malvern School District recently welcomed Annette Brown, Science Specialist at Dawson Education Cooperative as part of the Professional Learning Community of second grade teachers as they continue to learn together through collective inquiry. The group is spending time to closely examine Next Generation Science Standards and determine effective grouping of performance expectations for their grade level and map out a sequence of learning for the school year. Through the PLC process, teachers have had the opportunity to discuss the "how" and "why" of learning and assessment.
